Course Description:

Intermediate Handgun with Scott Reitz is a fast-paced 3 day class ideal for qualified law enforcement and the private sector. Scott's background as an LAPD SWAT operator brings a unique perspective to the use of the handgun. This class will review handgun manipulations, speed reloading, malfunction clearance drills, one-handed shooting, multiple target engagement, position shooting, and varied distance shooting.

In addition, we will cover more advanced skills including the LAPD Metro “bounce” course, barricade shooting, low level light shooting techniques, multiple threat engagement, timed stress drills, rapid target acquisition, hostage scenarios, shoot/no shoot, unconventional shooting positions, and the bounce obstacle course.

Equipment:

• Safe reliable handgun, 9mm minimum

• Quality holster, belt and magazine pouches. Holster should allow for one-handed reholstering

• Minimum of 2 spare magazines. More is better.

• Eye and ear protection (remember clear lenses for lowlight shoot)

• Push button flashlight (Surefire type) for lowlight portion of the class

• 1000 rounds of quality ammunition that runs reliably in your handgun

• A spare handgun is not a bad idea in case your primary goes down.

• Elbow and Knee pads are optional
