Louis Awerbuck, director of Yavapai Firearms Academy, served in 1 Special Services Battalion in the South African Defence Force, and is a member of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) . He was employed at the original Gunsite Ranch as Chief Rangemaster until 1987, attaining the title of Shooting Master. With three decades of instructional experience, Louis has been a contributory adjunct instructor to the Marine Corps Security Force Bn Atlantic combat smallarms program and an adjunct firearms/tactics instructor for the Central Training Academy, Department of Energy. He has trained extensively in the police and civilian firearms field, and has instructed military personnel from various United States bases, including Special Forces units. Awerbuck has authored four books, "The Defensive Shotgun", "Hit or Myth", "Tactical Reality", and "More Tactical Reality", co-produced three videos including "The Combat Shotgun", "Only Hits Count", and "Safe at Home", and is Tactical Consultant and a contributing author to SWAT magazine. |

Bill Jeans, director of Morrigan Consulting, is a Reserve Deputy for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, where he works as a patrol deputy and Tactical Operations Unit member. For seven years Bill was the Operations Manager and Chief Rangemaster for Gunsite Training Center. He was an Adjunct Instructor there from 1980 until taking the Operations Manager position in 1990. Bill retired from the Clovis, CA Police Dept. in 1990 as Sergeant, having been responsible for all tactical firearms training for that agency. He directed the firearms and tactics training block for the State Center Peace Officer's Academy in California for over four years. He is certified by the commissions on Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST) in the states of Alaska, Arizona and California as a general and tactical firearms instructor. Bill is also the author of several state-approved instructor programs, both when as a police trainer and while at Gunsite Training Center. He is a contributing author to Fighting Firearms Magazine and The Tactical Edge, the magazine of the National Tactical Officer's Association. |

Scott Reitz is a 30 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department and director of the highly respected International Tactical Training Seminars (ITTS). He was accepted into the elite Metropolitan Division in 1980 and shortly thereafter was accepted into ‘D’ platoon, commonly referred to as SWAT, where he spent the duration of his career. In addition to his role as an LAPD SWAT operator, Scott was the primary firearms instructor for the Metropolitan Division and responsible for all in-service training for the department. Scott has been personally involved in a number of officer-involved shootings, all in-policy with successful outcomes, and has served as an expert witness in countless other officer involved shootings. These qualifications distinguish him from all other law enforcement trainers and give him a unique perspective on the use of deadly force. This “real life” experience has contributed to his capabilities as a firearms instructor and his ongoing involvement as an expert in the use of deadly force make him imminently qualified to train law enforcement officers as well as the private sector. He is an F.B.I. certified law enforcement instructor and has trained with SEAL Team 6, Delta and the F.B.I.’s HRT in counter-terrorist operations and participated in Recon Battalion anti-terrorist fleet training with the U.S. Marine Corp at Camp Pendleton. Scott also spent several years as an adjunct instructor for the Department of Energy’s SRT-III training in New Mexico and is a regular contributor to SWAT Magazine. |

| Larry Vickers retired Master Sergeant in the US Army after a 20 year career in Special Operations, the last 15 in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta (commonly referred to as Delta Force). In addition to his extensive operational experience, Larry served as a combat marksmanship instructor training new operational members of Delta. He has been instrumental in the research and development of the HK416 carbine, HK45 pistol (in development), Schmidt and Bender Short Dot Scope, Surefire X200 Weaponlight, and other products in use by the special operations community today. He is an FBI, Secret Service, and NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, and one of the founders of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). | |||
